Just celebrated my 10 year HS reunion about a week ago. I am shocked that it has been that long since I walked the halls of West Albany High School. I was also very surprised at who was at the reunion and who was not. But the biggest surprise was the actual number of people that actually showed up-- approx. 12!!!! Crazy.
Not sure if I will attend my 20 year reunion or not. I think it is still too early to tell. But the one thing I do know is that I am happy I went to this one. At least I have made it to another mile marker in life.
No matter how many people attend or how bad or good the weather is. No one should miss those big mile stones in life. So if you have yet to go to your HS reunion? I would definitely recommend doing so. I am sure you will have the same feeling as me. "Well, it was kind of lame, but I am soooo glad I went".

Diet and Exercise
As some of you know, I have been going through some changes in my diet. It has been a struggle at times, but I think I am now getting into a good pattern of eating. I still have problems cutting out all the sweets and dairy products, but I am soooo much better then I was a couple months ago.
Now my goals are to do even better with my sweet intake and get to the gym more often. The pounds won't come off without my ability to do both of those things. The sweets are going to be the hardest for me. I am such a chocoholic. Doctors keep telling me to eat fruit instead of sweets. Not sure why this is soooo difficult for me, but it is. Does anyone have any good recipes for making fruit more desert like? Maybe if I had a way of making the fruit more appealing I could train my brain to look at fruit in a different light.
As far as exercise goes.... I have been seriously lacking in my gym attendance. I am just going to have to force myself to move and go do something (even if it is not going to the gym). Because not only will exercise help my weight loss, but it will also help with stress and some of my health issues.
So I am going to make a pledge to all of you. I pledge to exercise more and eat less sweets! And in case you notice that I am slacking on my promise you have every right to slap my hand, tell me to get off my butt, and remind me of my pledge.

July 4th
July 4th is America's Independence day. It is also my favorite (non religious) holiday. I am extremely proud to be an American and very thankful for the freedoms I get to experience. Not everyone is as lucky.
This year marked America's 235 birthday! Doesn't that just blow your mind? Just thinking about it makes me grateful to all the men and women who have served (or are still serving) in the military. They are the reason I get to live in the Land of the Free.
In my opinion, everyday should be our Independence day because everyday that we are still free to worship and live the way we choose is a day that should be celebrated. You never know when your freedom may be taken away.
Alright, now I am off to experience all my freedoms in a whole new light. Happy Independence day everyone.
